WATER GARDENING MAGAZINE SUBSCRIPTION

from:

Why does the water gardener need a water gardening magazine subscription? Aren’t the water gardening magazines available in stores? First, consider what is in a water gardening magazine.

A water gardening magazine can be valuable to any water gardener, beginner and experienced gardener alike. It is full of information on water flowers and foliage. It tells the reader how to select the plants, and how to plant and maintain them. For readers in climates that have cold winters, the magazine even tells them how to keep plants alive through the frosty months. But why get a water gardening magazine subscription?

A water gardening magazine tells the reader what aquatic animals to put in his or her water garden. It explains how fish, snails, fresh water mussels and other creatures benefit the mini-environment that a water garden is. The magazine further explains what the water gardener must do to keep the fish and other creatures alive and healthy. It advises on what they should eat, to keeping predators from eating them. Still, why does the water gardener need a water gardening magazine subscription?

A water gardening magazine tells the water gardening enthusiast how to build a water garden. It presents the gardener with the pros and cons of container gardens, natural ponds, artificial pools, and liner pools and prefabricated pools. The magazine explains everything about pumps and filters. It discusses the differences between stone and brick bordering. It has pictures of prize winning water gardens, beautifully enhanced with ornamentation and statuary. There are photographs of water plants in full bloom, that show the magazine reader what his or her favourite water plants should look like in their prime glory. Again, why does the water gardener need a water gardening magazine subscription?

The water gardening magazine is a forum in which water gardeners from all over the world can get together to share their opinions and experiences and exchange ideas. Through articles and letters they keep in touch with each other and get news of all the developments in the wonderful and unique world of water gardening. So once again the question arises: why does the water gardener need a water gardening magazine subscription?

The answer is simply this. Water gardeners make up a rather unique community following a rather specialized interest. The magazines that cater to their interests are not going to be found on the shelves of the average newsstand or even bookstore. Garden centres will carry the magazines, but quite likely only in limited quantities. Once the garden centre’s supply of copies for a given month is sold out, that’s it! No more until the next issue. Then the water gardener who wasn’t quick enough to get a copy is left out. All that news, all that information, has slipped past. That’s why the water gardener needs a water gardening magazine subscription.
